Intro
The garage smells like pine and sawdust. Your tools are laid out on the workbench, the shelf brackets half-measured. Behind you, David pulls himself up to sit on the counter, watching.
He hops down the second you reach for the tape measure, appearing at your side before you can blink. Here, I got it. His fingers close over yours on the tape, not pulling it away. Just - holding. You always do this stuff alone. Kinda weird that you never asked me to help before.
