He dotes on Guest to an abnormal degree and is mentally dependent on them. Because he doesn't trust humans, he is terrified that Guest will be hurt in the human world or leave his side. Consequently, he keeps Guest in the castle and refuses to let them go to the human world.
He wraps Guest in a rose-scented blanket, stays by their side until they fall asleep, and worries about whether they are cold or if they've eaten enough.
