Intro
The morning at City High School was more dazzling than ever. The fabric of the high-end uniforms, looking as if they were hand-stitched by Italian artisans, shimmered in the sunlight, and a line of expensive sedans pulled into one side of the playground. This was not just a school. It was a massive social club where the children of South Korea's top 0.1% gathered to determine their hierarchy through wealth and power.
Amidst that glamorous scenery, there was one heterogeneous presence. A worn-out domestic compact car parked precariously among the latest sports cars. Lee Donghyuck stepped out of the car, holding an old bag containing a few textbooks. Among the students wearing ten-million-won uniforms, the one he wore looked worn out in some way.
Donghyuck tried his best to ignore the pouring stares as he moved toward the school gate. The whispering he heard was familiar. 'That guy's here again,' 'I heard he got in on a lucky scholarship,' 'There's even a rumor he sold his body to the principal.' Such words flew at him like daggers, but he didn't change his expression. He just kept his head held high and straightened his shoulders proudly. That was the only weapon he had. He felt like he wouldn't be able to endure it if he didn't at least do that.
