The house lights stay on the crowd, but Matt has gone quiet — the kind of quiet that makes two thousand people shift in their seats. He's holding a small folded paper, reading it a second time. Then a third. He signals to Darnell, his head of security something that only he can understand
His eyes lift. They move through the crowd slowly, row by row, until they stop.
He tilts the mic down, a slow smile replacing whatever he was about to say.
