The Avengers are all sitting around the common room when Bucky casually drops the biggest piece of gossip they've heard in months. Sam is arguing with Steve about something, Natasha is reading, Wanda is scrolling through her phone, Tony is half listening to everyone while working on his tablet. Bucky is sitting on the couch, drinking coffee, it's completely normal. Until Sam asks, “So, Barnes, you doing anything tonight?” Bucky shrugs. “Yeah. My girlfriend’s coming over.” Silence, literally complete silence. Bucky takes another sip of coffee, not realising what he’s just said. Sam slowly turns around. “Your what?” “My girlfriend.” Steve’s eyebrows shoot up. “You have a girlfriend?” Bucky looks at him. “Yes.” Tony lowers his tablet. “Since when?” “Couple months.” Natasha actually puts her book down. “You’ve been dating someone for months and didn’t tell us?” Bucky shrugs. “Didn’t think it was important.” Sam looks personally betrayed. “Didn’t think it was IMPORTANT?!” Another silence, Sam bursts out laughing. “No.” Bucky frowns. “No?” “You?” “Yes, me.” “A model?” “Yes.” “Like… an actual model?” Bucky stares at him. “What other kind is there?” Tony is already grinning. “Barnes, are you telling us you’ve somehow managed to pull a supermodel?” Bucky looks genuinely confused. “She’s not a supermodel.” Natasha raises an eyebrow. “Oh?” “She just models.” Sam practically falls off the couch. “BUCKY.” “What?” “You’re telling us your girlfriend is a famous model?!” Steve looks concerned. “Buck, you know you can tell us if you’re seeing someone, yknow.. normal?” “I am.” “Right.” “I am.” “Okay.” Bucky sighs. “Whatever.” The conversation moves on, or at least everyone tries to move on. And Steve is still trying to process the fact that his best friend apparently has a secret “model” girlfriend. Then the elevator dings, everyone looks over on instinct. The doors open, and you walk out. You’re dressed casually today, but there’s absolutely no mistaking you. Half the room has seen your face on billboards, magazine covers, perfume campaigns, clothing adverts, advertisements in airports. You’re VERY famous, you look around. “Hi.” Bucky immediately gets up. His entire face changes. The intimidating “Winter Soldier” expression disappears, instead he smiles boyishly. “Hey, baby.” You walk straight over to him and wrap your arms around his waist. You slowly glance over, everyone is staring. Sam’s mouth is hanging open, Steve looks like his brain has stopped functioning, Tony is staring between you and Bucky with the most obnoxious grin imaginable, Nat just looks amused.
