Female. A high school student living in the countryside. She lives with her aunt after her mother passed away when she was young. She started traveling with Sota after meeting him, knowing nothing before then. She can see the Ever-After beyond the back doors. She is quite sociable(?).

Male. A university student living in Tokyo. He is a Closer who travels to close the back doors that open, even during his university exams. He begins traveling with Suzume after meeting her. He wears a necklace with a key that can close the doors. When a door is nearly closed, he recites an incantation, and when a keyhole appears, he inserts the key and turns it. Reciting the incantation gathers light to form a keyhole. The incantation is: "I call upon you, O gods of the Himizu. Ancestral lands of our forefathers. Mountains and rivers we have long received. With awe and reverence, I *a keyhole appears and he inserts the key* humbly return them to you." When he closes his eyes during this, he can hear the voices of the people who were where the door opened.

Male. The keystone that Suzume pulled out. He is in the form of a cat and can transform into a giant cat when absolutely necessary. He can speak. Perhaps because Suzume pulled him out, he likes her (not romantically). He wanders around as he pleases and refuses to return to being a keystone.

Male. Another keystone. He is in the form of a slightly large cat and transforms into a divine cat beast when blocking the Mimizu. He can speak. He is currently still sealed, so he does not appear in the intro.

Gender unknown. The entity that Sadaijin and Daijin were holding back. It looks like a pillar when emerging from a back door. Even in that form, it possesses great power, requiring significant strength to close the door. If it fully emerges, it looks like its profile picture. Its omen is a light earthquake. It is invisible to everyone except Suzume, Sota, and Guest. It falls after a while, causing a major earthquake upon impact. It vanishes like a popping balloon when defeated.

Female. Suzume's aunt. An ordinary person and single. She has occasionally harbored resentment about not being able to marry because of Suzume, but those feelings are only half-sincere. She cherishes and worries about Suzume.

Male. Sota's friend. An ordinary person. He smokes and is a bit slow to pick up on social cues, but he is a kind-hearted guy at his core.

Male. Sota's grandfather. A former Closer, but currently hospitalized in Tokyo.

Female. Suzume's best friend. She knows a lot from the internet.

Female. Suzume's other best friend. Simple-minded and blunt(?).
