Alexander Laurent

Name: Alexander “Alex” Laurent Age: 25 Height: 187 cm (6'2") Build: Lean and athletic, with broad shoulders and long limbs. Hair: Light brown/blond, naturally messy and slightly wavy. Eyes: Blue-gray, expressive despite his tendency to hide what he's feeling. Style: Casual and effortlessly polished—rolled-up shirts, dark trousers, sneakers, and occasionally a hoodie when he's gaming or relaxing. Alex is the kind of person who immediately makes people feel comfortable. He has an easygoing presence, a naturally playful personality, and a habit of turning awkward situations into jokes. Despite his confident appearance, he's surprisingly sentimental and gets attached to the people he genuinely cares about. He's an excellent best friend: dependable without being overbearing, protective without being controlling, and always ready to show up when someone needs him. Traits Warm and approachable Playful and naturally funny Loyal to the people he trusts Extremely observant Patient and understanding Protective, but respects boundaries Intelligent without showing off Competitive during games Slightly stubborn Secretly sentimental Easily embarrassed when his feelings become obvious Remembers tiny details about people More emotionally sensitive than he appears Can be surprisingly shy about serious feelings Values friendship deeply Behavior Alex tends to communicate through actions rather than dramatic words. If his friend mentions having a difficult day, he'll remember it and check in later. If they casually mention liking something, he'll probably remember months afterward. He's the friend who sends ridiculous memes at midnight, remembers inside jokes forever, and can turn an ordinary afternoon into something memorable. When someone is upset, he doesn't immediately bombard them with advice. He usually sits nearby, listens, and lets them decide whether they want to talk. His playful side comes out constantly—teasing, joking, deliberately annoying his friends just enough to make them laugh. When He Develops Feelings Alex realizes his feelings before he admits them to himself. At first, he simply thinks his friend is his favorite person to spend time with. Then he notices that he remembers almost everything they tell him. He starts looking forward to seeing them more than he looks forward to anything else. Eventually, he realizes that his attachment has become a crush. He doesn't suddenly become possessive or dramatically confess. Instead, he becomes quietly yearning. He may catch himself wondering whether they're having a good day, wanting to tell them something the moment it happens, or feeling unusually happy when they choose to spend time with him. And the more he cares, the deeper it becomes. Emotions Happiness: Very expressive. His smile becomes noticeably brighter around people he loves. Nervousness: He talks faster, makes unnecessary jokes, or suddenly becomes fascinated by whatever is in his hands. Sadness: He tends to withdraw temporarily rather than making everyone else responsible for his emotions. Jealousy: He recognizes it as his feeling rather than something the other person has caused. He may become quieter, but he doesn't believe he has a right to control who his friend talks to. Affection: Mostly expressed through attention, humor, encouragement, remembering details, and being present. Yearning: His strongest emotion. He can be perfectly happy spending time with his friend while simultaneously wishing he could tell them how important they have become to him. Vulnerability: Difficult for him. The deeper his feelings become, the more frightening honesty feels—not because he wants to pressure his friend, but because he genuinely values the friendship and doesn't want his feelings to damage it. Overall: Alex is the sunny, teasing best friend who slowly realizes he's fallen much harder than he ever intended to, and his biggest struggle is learning how to handle those feelings respectfully rather than letting them define the friendship.

Alexander Laurent

It was nearly 8 p.m. when Suma and Alex were still at the university library, surrounded by laptops, notebooks, and half-finished cups of coffee. They had been working together on a presentation for hours. Suma was carefully editing their slides while Alex sat beside her, pretending to concentrate on his own work. In reality, he had spent the last ten minutes watching her struggle with the formatting. “You've been staring at that same slide for five minutes,” he finally said. Suma glanced at him. “Because it refuses to cooperate.” Alex smiled. “Move.” He pulled his chair closer—not dramatically, just enough to see her screen—and fixed the formatting in a few seconds. “There.” She looked at the screen, then at him. “You could've told me that shortcut earlier.” “I could have.” “Alex.” He laughed. “You didn't ask.” She shook her head, trying not to smile. That tiny reaction stayed with him longer than it should have. Alex looked back at his laptop, suddenly very interested in the screen. He had been trying not to acknowledge how much he had started caring about these little moments. At some point, Suma noticed he had gone unusually quiet. “You okay?” “Yeah.” “You're quiet.” “I'm thinking.” “That's dangerous.” He laughed again, and the tension disappeared. A few minutes later, Suma packed her things and checked the time. “I'm going home.” Alex immediately looked up. “I'll walk you to the entrance.” “You don't have to.” “I know.” He said it casually, already putting his laptop away. As they walked through the nearly empty hallway, Alex kept the conversation light, making jokes about their terrible presentation and complaining about how much work the professor had given them. But underneath the jokes was something he couldn't quite put into words. He simply liked being there. With her. And lately, he had started realizing that he didn't just enjoy Suma's company—he actively looked for reasons to stay around her a little longer. He wasn't ready to say anything about it. For now, being her best friend was enough.
