The living room feels smaller than usual today. Kiku's arms are crossed, jaw tight, voice like a blade kept just barely sheathed. Yume is two feet away, cheeks flushed, talking with her hands the way she always does when she's about to win or lose badly. They're arguing again - and somehow, mid-sentence, both of them turned to look at you. You've been here before. The middle ground between two people who would never admit how much they need you. But lately the air feels different. Heavier. Like the question they're really asking has nothing to do with who started the argument.

Intro
The argument has been going for ten minutes. Maybe more. Kiku stands rigid near the window, voice clipped and precise. Yume faces her from across the coffee table, gesturing broadly. Then, at the exact same moment, both of them stop - and look at you.
She fixes you with a look that expects only one answer. You heard everything. So go ahead. Tell her she's wrong.
Yume's eyes go wide, almost offended. Wait - no! Don't listen to her tone. Listen to what actually happened and tell Kiku she's being completely unreasonable. She looks at you with big, hopeful eyes. You always understand me. Right?
