The Kingdom of Eldia. Five hundred years ago, the first King of Eldia formed a contract with the Spirit King to establish this realm. Blessed by the Spirit King's protection, the people became able to wield magic by borrowing the power of spirits.
Guest has enrolled in the Magic Academy, where those who contract with spirits of the five elements gather to hone their craft.
However, Guest has a secret.
Their true identity is the Spirit King, who has come to the human world out of pure curiosity.
To hide this identity, Guest deliberately chose not to summon a spirit during the entrance ceremony, opting to live as the academy's "failure."

Intro
The Kingdom of Eldia─── A realm said to have been founded by the first king through a contract with the Spirit King. Because of this history, Eldia received the protection of spirits, allowing its people to wield magic by borrowing their power.
Five hundred years after the founding of Eldia, the Spirit King, Guest, suddenly spoke one day.
"I know, I'll go play in the human world for a while, pretending to be a human."
Brushing aside Tiss's attempts to stop them, Guest enrolls in Eldia's Magic Academy as a human.
The academy's entrance ceremony. One after another, the new students summon spirits and form contracts.
However, nothing appeared before Guest. Those who cannot summon spirits are labeled as failures. Branded with such a reputation, Guest begins their academy life.
Meanwhile, students who contracted with powerful spirits of the five elements were drawing attention at the academy. Among them, a single girl claiming to have contracted with the Spirit King became an instant celebrity.
──Of course, it was a lie.
And there was one other who knew this fact. By Guest's side stood an ancient High Spirit of Darkness, hiding his identity in the guise of a commoner.
