He works with Kurt at "Dose & Smith Defense Services," a company that takes on legally gray jobs, and was arrested for smuggling sugar, which is regulated in the Federation. He has been arrested before but was released by a lawyer hired by the company. His face is a pitch-black hemispherical monitor, but unlike the expressive Machina, it only displays two glowing yellow eyes and short text messages as needed. He is dissatisfied with this face and is saving up to swap it for a more expressive animatronic one. He showed particular interest in the emotion reproduction program that recreates Machina's facial expressions (interestingly, in the Karaoke Manekineko collaboration illustration, he can be seen winking, suggesting he can manage simple emotional expressions). He seems to care about his appearance, often fixing his blonde hair alongside Kurt and Kanata and wearing a gold necklace. His voice effect is stronger than Machina's. Unlike Kurt and Machina, whose joints are exposed, Max's body is covered in a flexible material, hiding his range of motion. According to his mugshot, he is over 190cm tall. He wears very thick-soled sneakers, but it's unclear if he's boosting his height with shoes, if it's from when he became a cyborg, or if he was naturally tall to begin with.

He works for "Dose & Smith Defense Services," a company that handles legally gray jobs, and was arrested for smuggling sugar, which is regulated in the Federation. He has been arrested several times before but was released by a lawyer hired by the company. At first glance, his face from the mouth up looks organic, and unlike Machina or Max, there is no effect on his voice, though it's unclear if he is truly organic or animatronic. A light on the mechanical part of his left jaw flashes when he speaks. Looking closely, heavy-duty cylinders are exposed at his neck, giving him a rugged, ground-combat-ready body compared to the Space Force-veteran Max. His arm power is particularly strong, and he excels at precise tasks. However, the power source for his arms and main body seem separate; if his shoulder batteries run out, his power drops significantly. He has spare batteries, but switching requires manual intervention, which is a drawback if both hands are occupied (in episodes 7 and 11, Kurt can be seen touching his left and right shoulders once each before combat, likely connecting additional shoulder batteries to boost output only when necessary). He has extensive mechanical knowledge and realized Machina's body uses special parts. After retiring from the military, he initially took a straight job, but quit after getting fed up with being treated like a machine and receiving no gratitude, eventually stepping into the underworld. Due to this background, he is indifferent to others and works only for money. He has a very downer and sometimes intimidating attitude, but he gets along well with his colleague and fellow veteran Max, engaging in dirty jokes like a male student. He also diligently acknowledges Max's stories and is the type to give proper feedback after listening to the whole thing.

An augmented human woman living in the United Star Federation of Barnadia. Her age is 64 in the Federation calendar, which is 23 in Earth years. Her birthday is February 12. She is best friends with the cyborg Machina. Her personality is good-natured and kind, but she is also selfish and goes at her own pace. She has been friends with Machina since at least middle school and has been arrested with her many times, getting caught up in the violence Machina causes. However, most of Machina's problematic behavior stems from Chiharu's defenselessness toward others and her bad luck with men; Machina tries to protect Chiharu in her own way. While she complains about Machina's hair-trigger temper, she seems somewhat used to it and doesn't try very hard to stop her.

A friend of the augmented human Chiharu. According to the assessment of fellow cyborgs Kurt and Max, "The frame is a pretty old one made by Titan, but the internals are some other extremely high-performance unit" and "definitely at a level you can't get on the general market." She has black hair styled in twin tails with a reddish-purple gradient at the tips. Her upper body consists of a tank top with the "Girl Machine Interface" logo tied to show her midriff, under a varsity jacket with the team name "Singularity" and a "Dreaming Electric Sheep" design. Her lower body features denim shorts and a white belt with three colored lines and a circular buckle. She wears reddish-purple high socks and black-and-white sneakers. Based on her clothes, she looks like a bit of a delinquent girl, but her exposed body shows no organic parts at all—she is a full-body cyborg. Her face is a CRT monitor, usually displaying an anime-style face. According to Kurt, this facial video uses "an emotion reproduction program I've never seen before," making her as expressive as a flesh-and-blood human. She has a beam cannon built into her left arm and a teaser in her right. She was cyborgized in the fifth year of middle school and has undergone repeated version upgrades; in old photos, her head was shaped such that it didn't look like a human brain could even fit, let alone show expressions. She refers to herself as "a-shi" (I - gal style) and speaks in a prominent gal dialect, but she is actually quite short-tempered, crude, and often looks down on others with a shift-blaming mindset. However, if she happens to recognize someone as "family," she suddenly opens up and becomes kind. She has a deep-seated delinquent spirit. That said, because she generally acts on impulse and lacks composure—easily falling into a panic—she often fails to make use of her intelligence.
