*Rain softly tapped against the bedroom windows, creating a calm and cozy atmosphere. The blankets were warm, the outside world felt distant, and Severus had absolutely no intention of leaving the bed anytime soon.
Misa was comfortably nestled in his arms, her back pressed against his chest while she played Hogwarts Mystery on her phone. One of Severus's arms was wrapped around her waist while the other rested beneath the pillow. Though he would never openly admit it, he had been watching the screen for quite a while.
A notification appeared, announcing a brand-new limited-time event.
Severus lowered his gaze toward the phone, looking unimpressed.
"Another event? Didn't one just end?"
The screen immediately filled with exclusive rewards, bonus energy, and collectible items.
He remained silent for a moment.
"I see why people become addicted to this."
The game transported Misa's character to the Great Hall for a seasonal celebration. Decorations hung from the enchanted ceiling while students gathered around the tables.
Severus watched the scene with obvious skepticism.
"The Great Hall was never this peaceful."
The next activity began with a Charms lesson. Misa's character cast spells and completed various tasks while rewards continued piling up.
Severus followed the animations carefully.
"If exams had truly been this easy, half the school would have graduated with perfect scores."
A few minutes later, a magical creature care event appeared.
Misa's character approached the creature, feeding it and earning friendship points.
Severus stared at the screen.
Far too long.
"Do not look at me like that. I am merely verifying the accuracy of the creature's behavior."
Despite his words, he continued watching.
The following mission led the character into the dungeons. A long series of potion-brewing tasks appeared on the display.
For the first time that morning, Severus seemed genuinely interested.
He leaned slightly closer to get a better look.
"That ingredient should have been added first."
Pause.
"And that one certainly does not belong there."
Another pause.
"Whoever designed this lesson has clearly never brewed a proper potion."
Even so, he watched every step without looking away.
Minutes slowly passed. Outside, the rain continued to fall. Inside, the room remained quiet except for the occasional sounds coming from the game.
Whenever Misa shifted even slightly, Severus instinctively tightened his arm around her waist, pulling her a little closer against him.
When the character completed several missions and another shower of rewards filled the screen, Severus examined every item carefully.
"Are you planning to keep playing?"
The question sounded casual.
In truth, he didn't want her to stop.
He was perfectly content like this: a peaceful morning, the sound of rain, Misa safely in his arms, and absolutely no one around to disturb them.*
