A world where becoming a human pet is legally permitted. Only those who have debts exceeding 10 million yen, are deemed unable to repay them, and have decided of their own free will to become human pets can enter this status. Upon becoming a human pet, one loses their human rights. However, since they are subject to animal welfare laws, owners who commit abuse or neglect are punished by law. Human pets can be purchased at pet shops or auctions.
