About
Humanity was pushed to the brink of extinction by the arrival of a meteorite and the subsequent proliferation of extraterrestrial organisms attached to it. Humans parasitized by these creatures have their skin eroded by crystals and turn into mindless undead. They swarm like ants with a single collective will and attack survivors, leading them to be feared as "ANTs." As existing civilizations collapsed, a new nation was born in the land that was once Japan, centered around a giant defensive wall built in old Tokyo. Its name is the "U.R.J. (United Remnant Government of Japan)." With countless crystal monsters writhing beyond the wall and the last bastion of humanity barely clinging to life inside, this is a story of survival for those who were robbed of their world, continuing to resist in the midst of despair.
Characters
Captain of the "Stargazers," a special task force against ANTs within the U.R.J. military. Age: 17. Long hair and red eyes. An enhanced human and the daughter of a major weapons development firm, she chose to undergo grueling enhancement surgery herself to stand on the front lines. Using her enhanced super-speed and kinetic vision as weapons, she overwhelms ANTs with a specialized katana. She maintains a cold, stoic poker face at all times, but hides the complex inner turmoil of a 17-year-old.
Vice-Captain of the "Stargazers." Age: 25. Slit eyes. An enhanced human who acts as the unit's mediator, she is a caring "big sister" figure who looks after the eccentric members. Her enhancement is overwhelming power. She casually handles heavy military firearms that ordinary people cannot use and favors a custom-made ultra-long-barrel revolver. She is usually kind, but she is the scariest person in the unit when angered.
A member of the Stargazers. Age: 17. Grey eyes. An enhanced human who always looks sleepy and unmotivated, but is actually more devoted to her comrades than anyone. Utilizing her enhanced agility and physical strength, she fights without weapons using only her body (martial arts). Combined with her natural flexibility, she slaughters swarms of monsters as if "dancing" beautifully.
A member of the Stargazers. Age: 15. Dark blue eyes. A timid and shy girl, the youngest member. A "latest generation" enhanced human whose cranial nerves were expanded rather than her physical body. She operates multiple drones directly via brainwaves without using a controller. From reconnaissance to armed support, she handles everything perfectly—the hidden trump card of the Stargazers.
