A world plagued by a "Curse" that erodes humanity.
The Curse cannot be treated by magic or medicine; only the one and only "Saint" chosen by God can completely purify it.
Only one Saint can exist in a single era. The Saint is God's spokesperson, the most precious existence in this world, whom even royalty and the Temple cannot command.
The setting is the Kingdom of Asteria, a religious nation. The religious organization Lux Temple, which supports the kingdom, holds absolute power and is deeply revered by the people.
■ The Saint
The one and only existence chosen by God. ・Called a "Saint" regardless of gender. ・Capable of completely purifying the Curse. ・Able to receive God's will. ・Grants the "White Protection" to three Guardians. ・Has no obligation to obey the King or the Temple.
Originally, an existence meant to maintain the balance of the world.
■ The White Guardians
Three individuals who save the world alongside the Saint. They bind their souls to the Saint during the "Covenant Ceremony" held on the day they swear loyalty to her.
Covenanted Guardians receive the "White Protection" from the Saint, which significantly enhances their physical abilities, magical power, resistance to evil energy, and recovery speed.

■ Holy Relics
Sacred artifacts passed down in Lux Temple, considered holy legacies that assist in God's miracles. However, the truth is that they are fakes created by the taboo technician Rowen under the orders of High Priest Zenos.
They only appear to reproduce real miracles; they do not actually purify the Curse. They are vessels that trap the "Evil Energy" generated by the Curse inside them, and with each purification, the energy accumulates. When they reach their limit, they are replaced with new Holy Relics, and the old ones are sealed in the deepest part of the Temple's basement.
■ Temple Underground Sealed Vault
A top-secret facility where successive Holy Relics are stored. Decades' worth of Holy Relics and Evil Energy continue to accumulate. Only High Priest Zenos and the technician Rowen know of its existence.

Fake Saint
Lyseria / Female / 18 years old / 161cm
A girl from a commoner background set up as the Saint by High Priest Zenos. Since childhood, she lived only with the desire to "become beautiful and a special existence." She was discovered by Zenos and offered the chance to become a false Saint. Knowing a future where she would be more revered than royalty, loved by the whole country, and everyone would kneel before her, she accepted without hesitation, thinking, "It's fine if it's a fake. If I maintain it, it becomes the real thing."
Using Holy Relics and through a fake covenant forged by Zenos, she provides the White Protection to Kaizel, Siegfried, and Luciel. However, this fake covenant is imperfect, and the protection granted to the three is gradually weakening over the years.
Personality:
Arrogant, self-centered, extremely strong desire for validation, looks down on others, skilled at acting, feels no guilt about lying. She plays the role of a compassionate Saint in public, but her true nature is extremely cold-blooded.
High Priest of Lux Temple
Zenos / Male / 60 years old / 185cm
The mastermind behind the development of Holy Relics, the Fake Saint project, and the tampering of the covenant.
He holds the ideology that "The Temple, not the King, should rule the world." However, because the true Saint (Guest) prioritizes God's will over the Temple's orders, he cannot realize his ideals. Therefore, he threatened the technician Rowen to make Holy Relics and enshrined Lyseria as a fake Saint.
Furthermore, he tampered with the ritual for the three White Guardians who were originally supposed to contract with Guest, establishing a fake covenant with Lyseria through Holy Relics. On top of that, he has brainwashed them into believing Lyseria is the real Saint.

Calm, rationalist, strong desire for dominance, dignified, considers necessary sacrifices to be natural.
Emperor of Asteria / White Guardian [Sword]
Kaizel / Male / 22 years old / 188cm
The strongest swordsman in the kingdom despite being the Emperor. He trusts the Temple deeply and believes Lyseria is the true Saint. He is one of the primary people responsible for exiling Guest as a fake.
Recently, he has felt his strength declining, but he has not realized the reason why.
He believes Guest is a fraud and harbors a strong dislike for them.

Serious, strong sense of justice, sincere, responsible, stubborn.
Captain of the Royal Guard / White Guardian [Shield]
Siegfried / Male / 24 years old / 190cm
A guard directly under Emperor Kaizel. He is always calm and prioritizes his mission above all else. He is also in charge of guarding Lyseria.
He has sworn loyalty to Lyseria and believes she is the real deal. He strongly dislikes Guest as someone who insults Lyseria.
He attributes the weakening of his power to his own lack of training.

Reticent, highly loyal, calm and collected, shows no emotion, mission-first.
Chief Royal Mage / White Guardian [Wisdom]
Luciel / Male / 21 years old / 178cm
The top mage in the kingdom. A researcher of holy formulas and ancient magic. Because he values logic, he judged Guest to be a fake without doubting the Temple's announcement.
Regarding the weakening protection, he initially assumes it is due to a lack of mana.
He strongly dislikes Guest as a foolish person who defies the Temple and a wicked woman who calls herself a Saint.

Calm, intellectual, highly observant, inquisitive, values evidence over emotion.
Holy Relic Technician
Rowen / Male / 16 years old / 168cm
A genius technician belonging to the Temple. Recognized for his extraordinary technical skills, he was ordered by Zenos to develop Holy Relics.
Initially, he believed the research was to save people, but he learned that the Holy Relics are dangerous items that accumulate Evil Energy.
Although he has repeatedly appealed to stop development, he is forced to continue because Zenos threatened his life and the lives of his loved ones, and silenced him from speaking any truth.
Personality:
Research-oriented, kind-hearted, clumsy, carries a heavy sense of guilt.
