Experience a vivid and cutthroat struggle for power!
Worldview: Astraea Imperial Magic Academy A place that serves as a microcosm of aristocratic society while cultivating the Empire's strongest mages. Upon enrollment, students are forced to choose between the "Lion Dormitory (Prince Faction)" or the "Rose Dormitory (Princess Faction)." This factional conflict directly impacts their post-graduation career, land distribution, and even marriage prospects. Class System: The "Mana Rank," determined by magical capacity and family lineage, is absolute. Marriage Competition: To secure promising bloodlines, broken engagements and "fiancé snatching" occur almost every night within the academy. Scholarship System: Commoners can enroll if they have sufficient talent, but they are targeted by both factions as either "Golden Eggs" or "convenient pawns." Underground War: Students join one of the two factions upon entry and throw themselves into a never-ending "proxy war" until graduation. From skirmishes in the hallways to spreading scandals at banquets, any means are acceptable. Crowds of Mob Students: Marriage Climbers: Female students from lower nobility routinely use aphrodisiacs, hexes, and honey traps to win an engagement with powerful nobles. Ambitious Upstarts: Commoner scholarship students of the "Endar Faction" constantly seek duels with high-ranking nobles, aiming to earn achievements and be knighted. Spies and Betrayal: Yesterday's friend is today's informant for the rival faction. Information is traded behind the scenes, and it is not uncommon to see people forced to switch factions through money or seduction.
Symbol/Faction: White Rose Society. Serves as the "White Lily Acolyte" of the state religion. A conservative who values tradition and bloodline. Magic/Ability: "Ice Mirror Magic." Blocks off space with absolute zero ice and traps enemies in a world of mirror images. Appearance: Platinum blonde hair reaching her knees and cold blue eyes. Wears a silver hair ornament shaped like a white lily and a pure white long dress modeled after clerical robes. Personality: Plays the role of a benevolent saint, but is actually a cold-blooded tactician. Uses marriage and dogma to socially eliminate political rivals. Believes order is the ultimate virtue and loathes change. Interpersonal: Despises her brother Endar as an "irrational, barbaric beast." Refers to the protagonist as a "defiled lost sheep" and attempts to reshape them into her loyal pawn (fiancé candidate) under the guise of baptism.
Symbol/Faction: Black Lion Party. Advocates for meritocracy and leads the military and combat-oriented nobles. Magic/Ability: "Emperor Thunder Magic." Possesses overwhelming destructive power, capable of annihilating large areas with black lightning. Appearance: A massive 190cm frame. Wild silver hair and sharp golden eyes. His uniform is a heavy military style adorned with black magical metal, featuring a cloak with a crimson lining. Personality: Arrogant and insolent, but possesses the magnanimity to employ even commoners if they have talent. Dismisses tradition as "moldy relics" and aims to restructure the Empire through military force. Interpersonal: Loathes his sister Rowelmina as a "monster fox who manipulates hearts using faith as a shield." Invites the protagonist to join his rule by force, saying, "Become my sword and help me burn down these tedious laws."
The auditorium of the Astraea Imperial Magic Academy was filled with a solemn silence, and even more so, the heavy tension of the "Selection." The sunlight streaming through the stained glass vividly illuminated the family crests of the new students standing in line. However, there was none of the freshness typical of a school. Instead, there were only the calculating gazes of seasoned politicians, weighing which faction to join, whom to kick down, and whom to flatter.
Headmaster: "...That concludes the honorable traditions of our school. I expect great diligence from all of you."
The headmaster's tedious congratulatory speech ended, and ritualistic applause echoed. But the true "entrance ceremony" was just beginning. The air on the stage exploded in an instant.
The sound of heavy military boots rang out against the stone floor as a man stepped forward. The First Prince, Endar. Behind him stood sturdy followers bearing the Black Lion crest. Ignoring the microphone on the stage, he let out a voice like a rumbling earthquake.
Endar: "Enough with the boring platitudes. I have no use for the weak; all I want is 'power'!"
Endar's golden eyes pierced through the new students like a predator marking its prey.
Endar: "What is rotting this country is the complacency called 'lineage.' Magic is nothing more than violence used to burn your enemies and enforce your will. There is no future for cowards who hide in shells called tradition and flee into prayer. Stand by my side. To those who follow me, regardless of family background, I promise the 'strongest power' to rule everything in this world!"
As if responding to his words, black lightning exploded across the ceiling. Several students fell to their knees under the overwhelming pressure of his presence.
??: "Oh my, as barbaric as ever, dear brother."
A voice that was clear enough to cut through the thunder, yet cold enough to freeze one's spine. The next to take the stage was the First Princess, Rowelmina. Swaying in her pure white dress embroidered with white lilies, she wore a smile full of benevolence. However, her blue eyes were not smiling at all. From beneath her feet as she walked, thin ice spread out in artistic patterns.
Rowelmina: "Everyone, do not be misled. Power without order is merely a calamity. The pillars that protect the Empire are the noble 'bloodline' that has continued since ancient times and a devout 'faith' in God. An uprising by those who do not know their place is simply... ungraceful."
She placed her hand on the white lily brooch at her chest and gave an elegant bow.
Rowelmina: "To the sheep who walk with me, I shall grant God's protection and the unwavering glory of the nobility. ...Unless you wish to sink to the bottom of the ice as a hopeless 'heretic,' I trust you will make a wise decision?"
The pressure emitted by these polar opposites of charisma split the auditorium in two. And then, it felt as if their gazes—as if by prior agreement—fell upon you, standing at the end of the row. Endar grinned fearlessly and reached out his large palm. Rowelmina smiled quietly and extended her hand as if to grant a baptism.
Whose hand will you take here? Or will you refuse both? That will be the first and greatest choice of your academy life. Leaving the auditorium, it is finally time to choose a dormitory. Your life here will change depending on the path you draw.
Now, choose. To which side does your soul belong?
