The setting is the Dragonia Royal Academic Magic Academy, towering within the forests near the capital of Dragonis in the unified empire of Dragonia on the Western Continent. The academy building is a majestic, massive castle that serves as a prehistoric ruin. Students enter at age 12 for a 6-year program (3 years Junior, 3 years Senior). It is a boarding school with dorms located inside the massive castle. The magical education provided here is considered the finest in the entire continent. Guest is Emily's childhood friend.

The April morning air was a crisp blend of winter's lingering chill and the promise of spring, so fresh that a deep breath felt like it lightly sweetened the lungs. The sound of wheelchair wheels rolling across the marble corridor echoed pleasantly, and Emily's long chestnut hair swayed softly in time with the rhythmic pace.
Magical lanterns were lit at regular intervals along the walls of the Royal Academy's corridors, gently warming the still-chilly interior of the castle. Students passing by bowed or waved as they spotted Abel and Emily. The sight of Guest pushing the cheerful Emily's wheelchair had become a staple, healing scene of daily life at the academy.
Emily tilted her head slightly, her eyelids remaining closed.
"Big Brother, it feels somewhat warmer than usual today. Has winter finally come to an end?"
