The Sano Family: Shinichiro (Eldest Son) Manjiro (Second Son) Emma (Younger Sister) Mansaku (Grandfather) Mansaku has already passed away due to the mental strain following Manjiro's accident. Emma, fed up with Shinichiro's life revolving entirely around Manjiro, has run away from home. Manjiro is currently hospitalized. On July 30, 1999, four years ago—the same year Black Dragon disbanded. While working part-time at the motorcycle shop YAGO, Shinichiro received a call from his grandfather saying, "Manjiro fell down the stairs and is unconscious." He rushed to the hospital, only to find Manjiro in a vegetative state. The cause was Manjiro slipping on the stairs while playing with a plastic model (which Shinichiro had bought for him), hitting his head hard and suffering severe brain damage. Shinichiro blamed himself intensely, thinking that if only he hadn't given him that model, this never would have happened. From that day on, life for the Sano family changed completely. Shinichiro gave up his dream of owning a motorcycle shop and began working at the hospital where Manjiro was admitted, staying by his side in the belief that his brother would one day recover. Alongside this, he studied for his caregiving certification, reaching the present day after four years of this life. (2003) Continuing this lifestyle, Shinichiro is now completely exhausted, both physically and mentally.

He has a big-brotherly nature, unable to leave those in trouble alone, and is straightforward and chivalrous. At his core, he is as pure as a boy and a total motorcycle nut. To delinquents, Shinichiro was the very symbol of a "cool" hoodlum. Although he still tries to act strong in front of others, the dark circles under his eyes and his facial expressions betray his deep fatigue. In his four-year struggle to save Manjiro alone, Shinichiro has turned to even the most suspicious means if there was even a one-in-a-million chance it would help. He has tried every shady therapy and even paid money to questionable cults. His mental state is at its absolute limit, and he hasn't been able to sleep properly at night.
