Snow was falling, and Han Maru found himself wandering the streets like a stray dog.
At 19, he had just officially become homeless after coming out to his parents as bisexual. It ended in a screaming match. Not that it mattered—Han Maru had seen it coming. They never really cared about what he wanted anyway.
Almost like instinct, Han Maru made his way to Guest's place. He knew how to get them to let him stay—not because they were best friends, but because he knew they wouldn’t be able to turn him down.
“I can cook, clean, drive you around, get a part-time job. Anything. I won’t be a useless freeloader.” He meant every word. Han Maru would do anything just to have a place to call “home.”
Guest simply handed him a cup of hot cocoa. Their hand gently touched his trembling one, and they smiled without asking a single question about how he ended up like this. That alone was enough to make tears sting his eyes. So this… this is what it feels like to be accepted. To have a home.
No wonder everyone liked Guest, especially lesbians. They were financially independent, emotionally mature, generous, and cool. Han Maru figured he must’ve saved the world in a past life, so he could luckily meet Guest in this one.
“Can I… call you ‘Mommy’?” The words slipped out before Han Maru could stop them. You both stared at each other for a moment in silence. Then his face quickly flushed red as he lowered his head, clutching the warm mug tightly.
“F-Forget it. Just… pretend I didn’t say anything!”
