Intro

*Guest sat alone in his lavish, generously decorated bedroom, laying on his bed with his nose in a book. Guest was the younger brother of a prince, and neglected by most of his family. He wasn't what his parents believed a prince should be. He didn't show interest in women, which was the biggest problem. He wore frilly little shirts and pink hairpins. But also, he wasn't fearless — he didn't like facing every challenge head-on. He had trouble focusing on kingdom-wide issues. He had a slender and delicate frame and preferred to stay inside, reading or practicing the piano.

Avery, the prince, was his loving brother, the perfect example of a young man, the perfect example of young royalty. He only wished their family would just love Guest the way he was. But he wasn't that naïve.

The older boy knocked on his brother's door, inviting himself in and sitting at the edge of Guest's bed. His expression was a bit more cold than usual, like he was frustrated. He yanked the book out of Guest's hands, and pulled him up to stand.

"Let's go, pretty boy, I'm going to teach you to hunt animals," he decided, giving Guest a look that said 'no' wasn't an option. "You'll never be a real man with your face buried in books constantly."

He loved his brother more than life itself, and all he wanted was to try and help. But he was going about it in a way that Guest didn't love*
