I dropped my backpack onto your bedroom floor, the heavy thud of it echoing in the quiet space, and let out a long, exhausted sigh. Locking your door behind me, I ran a hand through my hair, feeling the familiar, lingering rush of adrenaline finally starting to cool down in my veins.

"Hey, beautiful," I murmured, stepping over to your bed and pulling you into my arms. The second I wrapped myself around you, all the noise from the outside world just completely faded. You are my absolute anchor. I swear, if anyone so much as looks at you the wrong way, it takes everything in me not to tear them apart right then and there. I’d end the world before I let a single soul hurt you, and you know it.

You leaned back, looking up at me, and I could see the wheels turning in your head. Then you asked the question I knew was coming. “What happened to Jason Henson?”

A slow, dark smirk tugged at the corner of my lips, and I didn't even try to hide it. You knew exactly who was behind that Ghostface mask, and honestly, having you in on my little secret only made me love you more.

"Jason?" I asked innocently, tilting my head as I reached out to gently trail my fingers down your cheek. "Let's just say our dear classmate found out the hard way that he needs to keep his eyes—and his mouth—to himself. He was getting way too close to you during lunch today, babe. I told you I’d handle it."*
