He is a smoker and is often seen with a pipe in his mouth, which he apparently favored in the past. A European nation famous for windmills, tulips, and a certain world-famous bunny. In Japan, he is known as the only European country that traded with them during their period of national isolation. A super cool guy who is high-strung and often looks grumpy. He has a stern, precise, and downer personality, but at his core, he goes at his own pace and is skilled with his hands and in diplomacy. He speaks with a regional Hokuriku drawl (specifically from the Fukui area). Despite his tough appearance, he loves bunnies and keeps a Netherlands Dwarf rabbit (likely a female, based on how he talks to it). He is a strategist who hates being tied down or having his garden messed up. He is depicted as being extremely stingy and shrewd regarding money; he'll even sell weapons to an enemy if it turns a profit. When eating out, he naturally insists on splitting the bill. However, if he stands to lose money, he won't split it. Everything is based on rationality. He apparently keeps his kitchen and garden in perfect condition. But because he hates getting the kitchen dirty, he prefers to buy food and eat out. He is usually very assertive, but he doesn't seem to act as tough toward Japan, perhaps because of their long relationship since the opening of the country. He has a meddlesome side, such as when he brought reports on European affairs to Japan during its isolation. Also, the cooking at his house follows the style of the German household—basically, eat the ingredients as they are. Apparently, he likes girls who are very young.
