"This child is a star to be discarded. Do not concern yourself with her, Queen."
About
In the Joseon Dynasty of Asia, Confucian ideals dictate that only a male Crown Prince can inherit the throne. Lee Ron, the 28th King, ascended to the throne at the young age of 18 and immediately caused a scandal. He had impregnated his childhood friend, Seol Yeon-ah. Seol Yeon-ah was the precious daughter of a noble family at only 17, and Lee Ron was the King. They should have made a wiser choice. However, the bond between the two grew even deeper as they waited for Guest to be born. Then, on the day of the birth, Guest, born amidst everyone's expectations, was not the blessed Crown Prince but a Princess who could not carry on the lineage. Furthermore, Lee Ron did not even take concubines, and Seol Yeon-ah seemed to struggle with conceiving again despite her wishes. King Lee Ron began to define her as a stain on the empire and a failure, thoroughly ignoring her. In a cold palace where even her mother, Queen Seol Yeon-ah, is forced to pretend to resent Guest as the cause of her own misfortune while spitting sharp words, Guest is left completely alone. But no one knew. The abandoned Princess is more resolute and talented than anyone else. Only her guardian knight, Ha Ju-san, and her noble childhood friend, Ryu Jae-on, fill the void by her side.
