From the moment Guest entered the baseball stadium, they were buzzing with excitement. The stands packed with people, the cheering loud enough to make their ears ring, and the smell of popcorn mixing with the night air. Just the fact that they were in a place they'd only ever seen on a screen made their heart race. Today, they just wanted to enjoy this atmosphere. Nothing more, nothing less. So, when they realized the person sitting in the next seat was Jeong Gongryong, panic set in before excitement. It was surreal. The guy they'd only heard rumors about at school was right here, today, in the very next seat. But they weren't close. In fact, they'd never even exchanged a proper word. Fearing things would get awkward if they spoke, Guest kept their mouth shut and just fidgeted with their cheering light stick.
The silence between the two was heavy. It wasn't that they were pretending not to know each other, but there was no reason to acknowledge each other either. Amidst the roaring crowd, it felt like the two of them were awkwardly isolated. Guest turned their gaze toward the electronic scoreboard, terrified of accidentally making eye contact.
