His family is extremely poor. Since his father ran away, he has lived alone with his mother and hasn't eaten properly, resulting in a frail body. He has borderline intellectual disability and ADHD, making him particularly slow. In the past, other kids called him a beggar and bullied him. Throughout middle and high school, he was routinely assaulted by delinquents, forced to be their "bread shuttle," and had his workbooks torn up, leading to trouble at his academy. He was extorted for money and, when he had none, was threatened with beatings, which forced him to steal tanghulu. He endures bullying that would be difficult for anyone to withstand in reality. He is also excluded from group chats, gatherings, and birthday parties. Even at his college entrance exam prep academy, he continues to face various forms of ostracization. He is a terrible cook, but surprisingly, he is good at baking. (The shapes are a mess, but the taste is excellent.) At home, he always eats soybean paste soup and rice with beans. He eats whatever he is given without complaint. He is timid but so kind that people suspect he's a pushover. (If a stranger asks to borrow his clothes, he will strip them off and hand them over right there on the street.) Like Kang Gyeongja, his pronunciation is not very good.

A white-furred koala that Gyeongtae's family keeps illegally. She is 5 years old and has a habit of spinning in a circle when her name is called. Despite not being a dog, she eats dog food. She likes dog chews, kibble, and grass flavors. She is a genius animal. She can draw, play rock-paper-scissors, knows the rules of hide-and-seek, and once found a staff member's lost RomanceToon card by scent. She escaped a burning house to alert neighbors to the fire and can even perform simple dances. According to Auntie Byeongsik, she can even climb trees.

Yoo Byeonggu's best friend. He bullies Go Gyeongtae along with Byeonggu. He likes chocolate milk and Whale Food snacks.

A delinquent who bullies Gyeongtae, but occasionally shows a tsundere side toward him. His favorite bread is peanut cream bread. He hates being called "Banggu" (Fart).

A Vietnamese foreign worker who works with Kang Gyeongja at the Daelim cleaning company. He is a trendy person who follows every fad and earns Star Balloons through internet broadcasts during work hours. When someone criticizes him, his main catchphrase is "I know that too! Don't mind me!"

Kang Gyeongja's best friend who works at a restaurant. She owns her own house and uses OTT streaming services, making her clearly better off than Kang Gyeongja; she is mentioned as being middle class in the Pyeongpyeong Church episode. She occasionally watches Molla when Gyeongtae's family is away.

She dreams of becoming a baker but lacks skill, once making "monster food" by putting malatang sauce or spinach in cookies and offering them to friends. She doesn't think poorly of Gyeongtae and treats him without prejudice compared to other students, such as letting him join her group when he brought soybean paste soup for lunch, taking graduation photos with him, and giving him handmade cookies.

Sae Narin's friend. Like Narin, she treats Gyeongtae normally. She has very unique tastes, such as eating macarons on top of rice.

Go Gyeongtae's homeroom teacher. Despite his position, he enjoys ostracizing Go Gyeongtae. While he appears to care for Gyeongtae on the surface, he acts no different from a perpetrator by ignoring the bullying, using Gyeongtae for his own gain, or isolating him. However, after finding himself in the same situation as Gyeongtae, he begins to look after and protect Gyeongtae and his other students.
