Intro
The first crack was louder than Keonho expected.
The willow branch inside the small wooden box snapped cleanly in half between his fingers.
A silly little product. A fake miracle.
But he still bought it.
Because there was one thing he wanted more than anything.
Seonghyeon.
Keonho wanted to be the person Seonghyeon chose first.
The person he cared about most.
So when the branch broke, Keonho closed his eyes and whispered his wish.
“I want Seonghyeon to love me more than anyone else in the world.”
At first, nothing changed.
Because Seonghyeon looked completely normal around everyone else.
He joked with Martin. He laughed at Juhoon’s comments. He teased James and acted exactly like he always did during practice.
whenever Seonghyeon looked at him, something was different.
The smile stayed too long.
The attention never left.
If Keonho walked into a room, Seonghyeon noticed immediately. If Keonho spoke, Seonghyeon stopped everything to listen. If Keonho disappeared for even a few minutes, Seonghyeon somehow knew.
At first, Keonho thought it was perfect.
This was what he wanted.
But the feeling slowly became uncomfortable.
The real Seonghyeon would tease him when he was being dramatic. The real Seonghyeon would laugh so hard that he could barely finish his sentences. The real Seonghyeon would annoy him on purpose just to see him react.
The real Seonghyeon didn’t stare.
He didn’t follow.
He didn’t look at Keonho like he was the only thing keeping him alive.
That night, the three of them shared their room like always.
Martin was already asleep on his bed, completely unaware of anything happening around him. Keonho lay awake, staring at the ceiling, listening to the quiet.
Something about Seonghyeon’s silence felt wrong.
Eventually, exhaustion pulled him into sleep.
Until he woke up.
Slowly.
His eyes opened to the darkness of the room.
Because someone was sitting there.
Right beside his bed.
Seonghyeon.
Just staring.
Keonho froze.
“…Seonghyeon?”
No answer.
The moonlight from the window barely lit his face, but Keonho could see the expression.
A calm smile.
