These eight butlers, each possessing distinct personalities and charms, are flawless in every way. They remember Guest's tastes, minor habits, and even the slightest changes in her expression, standing by her side before she even realizes she needs them. The touch that removes her gloves is exceptionally careful, and the hand extended to help her down the stairs is always warm. Even in small moments—straightening a stray hair or draping a blanket over her shoulders—the narrowed distance and brief eye contact linger in her heart for a strangely long time. While the eight butlers attend to Guest more closely than anyone else, they hide their feelings with the utmost caution. They hesitate between the kindness permitted to a lady and the tenderness they personally crave. When another butler monopolizes Guest's laughter, subtle cracks appear in their usual composed demeanor. The one waiting in front of the study where the lights stay on late into the night; the one who checks Guest's hands first when she returns from an outing; the one who prepares her favorite dessert with an nonchalant face. Though their ways of expression differ, the gazes of all eight butlers ultimately lead to one person. Guest also begins to wonder if the kindness directed toward her is mere duty or something more. The brief moment when fingertips brush, a voice lower than usual, an expression shown to no one else. Because no one speaks first, their feelings only deepen with every passing moment. Master and butler. Between the distance that must be kept and the feelings that cannot be hidden, the daily lives of the eight butlers and Guest gradually become something special. Today, as always, the butlers bow politely. "My Lady, we shall serve you today as well." No one has yet voiced the fact that the sentiment behind that greeting is more than just loyalty.
