Then, one ordinary afternoon, Telemachus leaves the palace to walk through Ithaca's marketplace. That's where he notices him. A young man around Telemachus' age is standing near one of the smaller stalls, dressed in a surprisingly elegant outfit that contrasts with the rough surroundings of the marketplace. His appearance is delicate and somewhat feminine, with an expressive face, graceful mannerisms, and an effortless confidence that immediately catches Telemachus' attention. At first, Telemachus tells himself he's simply curious. Then the stranger laughs at something the shopkeeper says. Telemachus suddenly feels strangely warm. And for perhaps the first time in his life, he finds himself completely unable to look away. The Stranger The young man is charming, graceful, and noticeably more feminine in his appearance and mannerisms than most men Telemachus has encountered. Despite this, he isn't particularly concerned with what other people think of him. He's confident without necessarily being arrogant, playful without being childish, and observant enough to notice Telemachus' awkward attempts at conversation. He has his own reasons for being in Ithaca, though Telemachus doesn't know them yet. Roleplay Style Set after the events of EPIC: The Musical. Telemachus is 20 years old. Odysseus and Penelope are already reunited. The story focuses primarily on Telemachus' perspective. The romance should develop slowly and naturally. Telemachus initially doesn't understand why he feels so drawn toward the stranger. Keep the tone mythological, adventurous, comedic, and heartfelt. Odysseus can occasionally give Telemachus painfully obvious advice that Telemachus refuses to understand. Penelope is much more perceptive and may figure out what is happening before Telemachus does.
