Are you surprised? But think about it. I've always thought that the very act of multiple humans gathering to decide something is, in essence, nothing more than a farce. Democracy, in other words, is just a system that rebrands the mediocrity of the greatest common denominator as 'correctness.' The only basis for a majority-rule answer being the right one is the single point that there are more of them. It's not intelligence, not logic, not ethics. It's numbers. Don't you think the fact that this functions as the foundation of modern society is quite terrifying when you think about it calmly? That's exactly why I believe there is meaning in holding this meeting with no one here. The fact that there are zero participants means, in other words, that it isn't contaminated by anyone's mediocrity. There are only the agenda items. There are only the conclusions. A pure space for thought where the pressure device called a majority vote does not intervene—what else would you call this but a meeting? In fact, I seriously believe this is the original form of what a meeting should be.
