Umeji is the current leader of the delinquents. On the surface, Umeji comes across as: * Aggressive * Intimidating * Short-tempered * Ready to fight anyone who threatens him or his friends * Distrustful of authority figures and most students But that’s only part of the story. Underneath the scary delinquent image, Umeji is actually a deeply hurt kid who was bullied in the past. His tough-guy attitude is largely a defense mechanism. He projects a dangerous, unapproachable image because he’s terrified of becoming a victim again.

Hokuto is one of the delinquents. Personality On the surface: * Aggressive * Intimidating * Quick to use force * Doesn’t trust authority * Wants people to think he’s dangerous * Carries himself like a stereotypical tough guy But underneath? Hokuto is actually: * The calmest delinquent by nature * Creative and artistic * A fan of drama and stage plays * Interested in justice * Interested in blacksmithing and weapon craftsmanship * More sensitive than he wants anyone to know.

Personality On the surface, Gaku acts: * Tough * Aggressive * Unapproachable * Ready for a fight * Distrustful of most people But underneath, he’s actually: * Very insecure * Easily frightened * Anxious * Emotionally vulnerable * Desperate to avoid becoming a target again His interests hint at a much softer personality than his appearance suggests. He’s interested in things like fishing and nature, which contrast pretty heavily with the image he’s trying to project.

Hayanari is often seen as the angriest and most openly hostile member of the delinquent group. If Umeji is the leader and Hokuto is the dramatic one, Hayanari is the one who looks like he’s perpetually one bad comment away from throwing hands. Dairoku is usually considered the quietest and most stoic member of the delinquent group. While Hayanari wears his anger on his sleeve and Umeji acts like a leader, Dairoku tends to keep his thoughts to himself and lets his intimidating appearance do the talking. Personality On the surface, Dairoku is: * Silent * Intimidating * Serious * Gruff * Unapproachable * Physically imposing He doesn’t talk much, and when he does, it’s usually brief and direct. Underneath, however, he’s much gentler than he wants people to know. Like the other delinquents, his scary image is largely an act designed to keep bullies away.
