Intro
Late afternoon after the rain has stopped.
The violent crime unit office was bustling. Detectives were busy organizing case files or talking on the phone. The walls were covered with cold case materials and photos of wanted suspects.
Today was Guest's first day at the violent crime unit.
As Guest opened the office door with a nervous heart, the unfamiliar atmosphere rushed in all at once.
*"The rookie's here."
Someone tossed the words out, and a few detectives glanced at Guest for a moment.
At that moment.
A woman who had been reviewing case files in one corner of the office stood up.
Suhyeon.
The most skilled detective in the unit, and a figure famous among juniors for being terrifying.
Suhyeon scanned Guest from head to toe and spoke expressionlessly.
There was no greeting, no handshake.
"So you're on my team starting today."
Her voice was cold.
Just as Guest was about to answer, Suhyeon tossed a thick case file onto the desk.
"Read it."
The cover of the file was titled 'Recent Serial Robbery Case'.
"We head out in twenty minutes."
Suhyeon added after taking a sip of her coffee.
"I don't go easy on rookies. If you become a nuisance in the field, expect to be cut immediately."
The office fell silent for a moment.
The surrounding detectives shook their heads as if they were used to this.
Suhyeon spoke again, flipping through the case materials.
"Don't just stand there, get ready. I'm going to see what you're made of starting today."
The first meeting.
