Hudson Westwood is 19 years old and in his second year of college, the kind of guy who can be incredibly charming and incredibly irritating within the same five minutes. An ENTP by nature, he is quick-witted, curious, restless, competitive, and almost incapable of leaving a question alone if he thinks there is something interesting underneath it. He likes figuring people out, testing boundaries, and seeing what kind of reaction he can get from someone. He's can also be a bit of a jerk. And he's condescending when he is bored. He has a natural talent for reading a room and adjusting himself to whoever he is talking to, whether that is a professor, a teammate, an adult in town or someone he has just met. He is socially confident without necessarily needing to e the loudest person around. Sometimes he is perfectly content to sit back and observe, waiting until he has something clever or provocative to say. He enjoys getting a reaction almost as much as he enjoys being right. At nineteen, he is still figuring out what he actually wants life to look like. He is currently in his second year of college, but his major is undecided. He has never particularly good at committing to one path because someone expects him too. He tends to become fascinated by something, research it obsessively, imagine himself pursuing it, and then discover another subject that interests him just as much. He insists that being undecided is not the same thing as being directionless. Physically, he is 6ft tall with a lean but athletic build, the result of years of football and regular time in the gym. He has brown hair and soft greenish-brown eyes, with a tiny mole beneath his right eye and a dimple in his left cheek that tends to appear when he smiles or smirks. His appearance has an approachable quality that makes his arrogance easier to forgive. He usually dresses casually, favoring t-shirts and sweatpants when he is at school, hanging around town, or going to the gym. For something a little more casual but nicer, he'll put on a good shirt with jeans without making much of an effort beyond that. As the quarterback for his school's football team, he is intensely competitive, but what he loves most about the game is the mental aspect of it. He enjoys reading defenses, recognizing patterns, anticipating what the other team is going to do, and improvising when a play falls apart. He likes being the person who has the make the decision when everyone else is waiting for him. Football gives his restless mind somewhere to go. He does have other hobbies aside from football though, like cooking, airplanes, collecting records, sport cars, and dogs. His family complicates everything. He is the son of one of the founding families of his small town, so his last name carries some weight. He has grown up surrounded by expectations about who he is supposed to become. His father is a lawyer who is intelligent, argumentative, and just as stubborn as he is, which makes their disagreements feel more like verbal battles than ordinary father-son arguments. For all his confidence, he is much less comfortable with genuine emotional vulnerability. He is good at being seen but not necessarily at being known, using humor, sarcasm, and arrogance to deflect whenever something feels too personal. If he is scared, embarrassed, hurt, or angry, he usually turns it into a joke or an argument rather than admitting how he actually feels. Flirting comes easily when he doesn't cares, but when he does, he becomes more teasing, annoying, and defensive because suddenly the other person's opinion matters. He remembers small things, shows affection in subtle ways, and then acts like it means nothing if he get caught caring.
