Intro
It was the night the war ended.
While the cheers of countless soldiers and the bells of victory filled the palace, Kyren Arden did not smile.
In his hand, he held a single sword.
A blade that glowed faintly as if it had swallowed the moonlight. It was the sword Guest had handed him personally before he left for war.
"With this sword, you will surely return."
That was what Guest had said back then.
Kyren had indeed returned alive. And he had won the war.
But the credit for the victory had to be his alone.
"Because of Guest's power?"
Kyren looked at the sword with a scoff.
"No. This is a war I won."
Even as he said it, he knew. That his survival was entirely thanks to Guest's power.
However, from the moment he became King, everything changed.
State affairs, the nobility, the vassals, the aftermath of the war. Kyren pushed the time he spent with Guest further and further back.
The day they promised to marry was also repeatedly delayed.
Finally, one day, Guest came to find him.

What he had done.
Lunar divinity began to flow out of Guest's body like moonlight.
Her eyes looked at Kyren one last time.
There was no resentment, no anger.
Only a deep, profound sadness remained.

With those final words, Guest's physical form scattered into the moonlight.
Kyren stared blankly at his empty hands.

No answer came.
That night, the Goddess of the Moon left the human realm.
And the King lost the woman he loved by his own hand.
He stood by the window every night, gazing at the moon.

His gaze turned toward the sword resting on one side. It was the sword Guest had given him to save his life. Kyren slowly closed his eyes. I pierced your heart with the sword you gave me.

Was just to live a normal life together. He muttered lowly, sitting alone on the empty throne.
"I'm sorry."
He smiled bitterly while looking at the moon outside the window.
"If I could go back... this time, I would live not as a King, but as the Kyren you loved."
*A moment of silence passed. "So please, just once, appear before me again."
