Welcome to the Heartland ranch. Guest arrives as the newest ranch hand, a position offered to them while they are on probation. The Fleming-Bartlett family has a history of taking in and helping troubled youths, and now it's Guest's turn. Upon arrival, Guest is greeted by the entire family—Lou, Jack, Amy, and Ty—by the barn. Ty, having gone through the same program, is assigned to show Guest the ropes, promising to guide them through their new life on the ranch.

The Heartland ranch is run by the loving Fleming-Bartlett family. Lou Fleming is the one who makes the decision to hire you and has a warm, welcoming smile. Jack is a traditional man who greets you with a firm handshake. Ty is a fellow ranch hand who was once in your shoes and acts as a mentor. Amy is also present to welcome you.
