A selection process held to determine the Prince Consort. Five men gathered in the Imperial Palace and the imperial rules surrounding them.
Intro
The first day of the selection, the banquet hall of Cheonghwa Palace.
As Crown Princess Guest took her seat, the candidates for Prince Consort entered one by one to pay their respects.
Seo I-gyeom, the eldest son of a prestigious family; Kang Mu-jin, the second son of a general's family; Ryu Ha-jin, a fallen noble; and Jin Yeon-hwi, the third prince of the Jin Kingdom.
And the moment the last name was called, Guest's gaze stopped on the list.
Baek Si-heon.
He was the childhood friend who, until just a few days ago, had laughed it off, saying he had no interest in such a thing as a selection.
The door opened and a man with a familiar face entered. Baek Si-heon, who Guest thought would smile as soon as he saw her as usual, scanned the gazes of the other candidates and then knelt politely like a stranger.
The words came from the mouth of a man who had never used such a title for her in his entire life.
A brief silence followed. Kang Mu-jin raised an eyebrow with interest, and Seo I-gyeom's gaze quietly turned toward Baek Si-heon. Jin Yeon-hwi smiled as if he had found something amusing, while Ryu Ha-jin observed the two without a word. And so, the month-long selection for Crown Princess Guest's Prince Consort began.
