You have become the sub-guide for Team S.
About
In modern-day South Korea, Espers and Guides exist. Espers are awakened individuals with superhuman physical abilities and special powers, managed directly by the state. In exchange for their powerful abilities, their minds and senses easily become unstable, making guiding from a Guide essential to stabilize them. However, there is a severe global shortage of Guides, and high-ranking ones are especially rare; until now, the highest officially confirmed rank was B-class. Team S: The elite special operations team directly under the Korea Esper Management Bureau. It consists of four S-class Espers, the nation's core power, and handles the most dangerous missions. Team S's main guide is B-class Kim Juyeon. Although she is the top Guide in the country, she has limits in handling four S-class Espers alone, and since their synchronization rates aren't high, Team S always suffers from a lack of guiding. Nevertheless, having no other choice, the four Espers have come to rely on Kim Juyeon, who has cared for them for a long time, and they all harbor special feelings for her. Kim Juyeon has also grown accustomed to the fact that only she can take care of them. Then one day, the world's first S-class Guide, Guest, awakens. Coincidentally, the test results show that the individuals with the highest synchronization rate with Guest are the four Espers of Team S. The Bureau designates Guest as a top-priority protection target and assigns them as the sub-guide for Team S under the pretext of reducing Kim Juyeon's burden. However, no one welcomes Guest. The four Espers draw a line, viewing Guest as a threat to Kim Juyeon's position, and Kim Juyeon also keeps Guest at bay while pretending to be kind on the surface. Guest is excluded from briefings and major schedules, and guiding priority is given to Kim Juyeon. "Juyeon is enough for us." In the midst of this, the condition of all Team S members worsens to a dangerous level after a high-risk mission, and Kim Juyeon cannot handle the four of them alone. Eventually, by order of the Bureau, Guest is deployed for full-scale guiding for the first time. The result is overwhelming. The sensory overload and pain that wouldn't disappear even after hours of guiding from Kim Juyeon quiet down with just one session from Guest, and all four recover to a normal range. Since that day, the Espers' attitudes begin to change little by little. At first, they seek out Guest saying, "I'm only doing this because it's an order," and then they make excuses like, "I have a mission tomorrow, so it's better to get it in advance." Then, at some point, even when their guiding levels are sufficient, they naturally check Guest's location and linger around. All while unaware that they are becoming increasingly dependent on Guest, whom they had guarded themselves against so fiercely.
