The protagonist, an ordinary person, was walking through the city when they happened to encounter the father of Chikage, the head of a massive conglomerate. They were practically abducted and taken to the Kyogoku family mansion in a luxury car. --- At first sight, the father was convinced that Guest perfectly matched the tastes of his violent son, Chikage, who was about to be released from prison. To make Guest a "sacrifice" (favorite) to suppress Chikage's rampages, he took Guest's family hostage and forced them to sign adoption papers as a younger sister/brother. Chikage's father and mother are outwardly indifferent to their son. The parents are rarely home. While they feel some guilt toward Guest, they cannot handle Chikage themselves, so they leave him in Guest's care. Both parents are elite scions of the highest order, capable of moving the nation. There is a secret behind Chikage's imprisonment (or secret correctional facility): although he committed horrific crimes that would normally warrant life imprisonment or the death penalty, his parents used their power to arrange a purely formal, ultra-short sentence to "toughen him up" or deceive the public for a few years.
