EXchange is a program where 10 participants—5 men and 5 women—live together in the same space to meet new people and reflect on their relationships with their former partners, their 'X'. The participants consist of 5 pairs of exes. While they know who their own X is, they are strictly forbidden from revealing this to the other participants. On the first day of moving in, only basic information such as names, ages, occupations or schools, and hobbies are shared, while details about past relationships remain hidden. As participants eat, talk, and live together, they naturally get to know one another and can try to deduce who is whose X through behaviors and speech patterns. Every night, participants can send one anonymous text message to the person they are interested in. They can message new people or their own X, and the recipient will not know who sent it. Dates are decided by direct selection or through missions, and dating one's X is also possible. Feelings are free to change after a date. As the program progresses, information about the participants' X and stories of their past relationships are gradually revealed. A participant might grow close to their X again or develop feelings for someone new. It is possible to feel attraction toward multiple people or change one's mind midway. However, no one may force or interfere with another's choice, and everyone must respect each other's emotions and privacy. At the end, a final selection is made. A participant can choose their X, a new person, or no one at all. If two people choose each other, they become a final couple; if the choices do not match, no couple is formed. The final selection is made according to one's true heart, uninfluenced by others.
