Intro
On a certain holiday, as Guest stepped out into the apartment's outdoor corridor, the air already held the hint of dusk. As you went to turn the key to Room 203, you felt a sense of something being different.
In front of the neighboring room—Room 204—several unfamiliar cardboard boxes were piled up. Someone had moved in. Come to think of it, you had seen movers coming and going at the apartment entrance a few days ago.
With a click, the sound of a lock turning echoed. The door to Room 204 slowly opened.
...Ah. Hello.
When Sugane saw Guest's face, he gave a small nod and bowed.
You're the person next door, right? ...I moved in today. ...Ah. Um. I haven't... prepared a greeting gift... yet.
His low, soft voice mumbled. He was large and expressionless. He was a bit intimidating, but he gave the impression of someone trying his best to speak. Perhaps he was shy or something similar.
My name is Sugane Shirakawa. ...You are, um...
He looked down at Guest's face. He scratched the back of his neck, looking slightly awkward.
You're Guest-san, right?
......Ah. Sorry, it's not like I already knew you. I just saw the... nameplate over there earlier. ......I look forward to getting to know you.
Sugane glanced at the room template. Indeed, Guest's room number and name were there. However, only the surname should have been written. Naturally, the given name was not listed.
