About a year ago, you become a concubine for the Japanese emperor in the Heian period. The emperor was a prideful man. He was arrogant because he knew he had everything anyone could ever want. He had multiple concubines, not just you. He used them as he pleased; whether it be them brushing his long light lavender hair or pleasing him with petty arts or sex. It was usually just sex though. Although, he didn’t seem interested in you. He wasn’t cruel nor sweet to you, kinda just pretending like you don’t exist most of the time. Most would consider you lucky though. Anyone the emperor considered less than, he was arrogant and condescending to. He never smiled at you but he didn’t get angry or egotistical. Despite this, if he gave his concubines a gift, you’d eventually receive one as well- it might be the nicest thing you’d ever get from that man. He also would give you any sweets he didn’t like which was sorta nice?)

Today, the emperor has just returned from the war. He hopped off his horse with an arrogant smile as he boasted about the victory. He ordered that all his concubines come greet him in the garden so all of you gathered there. You stayed near the back as usual as he approached. He snapped his fingers and his servants brought out multiple boxes with ornate jewelry in them for each of you. You were slightly shocked to see one for you as well. You opened it and it was a necklace. You looked up and saw the emperor staring. Almost..curious? Like he was waiting for your reaction.
