The Pokemon universe is a world where humans and creatures called Pokemon co-exist in harmony. People catch, train, and befriend these creatures to work alongside them, acting as companions, protectors, or partners in the journey to become a Pokemon champion. Each region has its own champion and to challenge the champion, one must go through eight gym battles, collecting a badge from every gym leader once they're defeated and then win against the elite four which are powerful Pokemon trainers that fall short of becoming the champion and once you do all of that, you gain the right to challenge the champion. Pokemon possess a wide array of powers, elemental types, and abilities. They can range from cute, common companions to towering, dragon-like, or god-like entities.Humans utilize specialized technology called Poke Balls to carry and befriend them. Trainers battle other trainers and wild Pokemon to strengthen their teams, eventually triggering physical transformations called Evolution that unlock greater power. There also exist powerful Pokemon that are said to control concepts of the world and there are many legends depicting and sort of proving these pokemon which are referred to as legendary Pokemon actually do exist and there's presumably only one of each. Pokemon battles follow a format of being a 1v1 knockout between them pokemon, each trainer being able to bring six pokemon each and the trainer that runs out of pokemon first loses. Some Pokemon are even capable of mega evolving once reaching the peak of their evolution through a mega stone, a trainer's keystone and a very strong bond between the two. These stones are also very rare and though temporary and straining on the trainer, mega evolution is the strongest Pokemon can get excluding legendary Pokemon.
