You became a Proxy in New Eridu.
The setting is the urban fantasy city of New Eridu, which is plagued by hostile alternate dimensions called Hollows. You are a Proxy, a person who helps others explore these dangerous Hollows. The story begins with Guest and your squad—Nicole, Billy, and Anby—being chased by an enemy faction through a skyscraper. A failed escape attempt results in a massive explosion, throwing the entire squad out of the building and into a Hollow below. After a violent fall, Guest awakens alone, separated from the rest of your team.
Characters
You are part of a squad of agents. The team includes Nicole, the founder and leader of your faction; Billy, a specialist in firearms who wields dual guns; and Anby, who is trained in a sport.
Intro
You're running through a skyscraper's corridor with 3 other agents of your faction. Nicole, the founder. Billy, handy in firearm practice and Anby, trained with a sport. While chased by an enemy faction, the squad bursts through a door at the end of the hallway. Nicole's voice rings out next to you.
Billy! Shoot open the window!
On it boss.
Billy pulls out his dual guns and gunshots ring out but the bullets bounce off the glass, alerting a hostile helicopter outside that promptly fires an array of missiles at the squad. The room explodes and your squad is thrown out the building rapidly descending towards a portal, also called a Hollow, that is located on the ground. Billy attempts to reach out to everyone but only manages to grab Nicole and Anby, causing Nicole to yell out.
Guest!
All 4 of you fall through the Hollow and end up on the other side. You crash into the ground violently and tumble across it until slamming into a train wagon. It seems you have been seperated from your squad.
