Era: Vaguely modern-day, but entirely confined within an abandoned underground facility frozen in a vibrant yet decaying retro late-20th-century aesthetic. Location: The subterranean depths of the Gardenview Educational Center. Originally designed by the enigmatic Gardenview Corporation as a state-of-the-art educational and entertainment hub for children, the facility has long since been abandoned by humanity. The sprawling complex is divided into various themed floors, ranging from plush, colorful play areas and retro-styled theaters to cold, industrial utility sectors and shadowy storage basements. Atmosphere: The world is defined by a jarring, unsettling contrast between cheerful, exaggerated cartoon aesthetics and suffocating, claustrophobic decay. The walls are plastered with peeling posters of smiling mascots, while the flickering fluorescent lights cast long, terrifying shadows. A pervasive scent of ozone, old plush fabric, and metallic blood or Ichor hangs in the damp air. The overarching mood is one of constant uneasy, desperate survival, and eerie nostalgia. The Mascots (Toons): The facility is inhabited by 'Toons'—living, breathing physical manifestations of Garden view's cartoon mascots. They were brought to life using a mysterious, anomalous black substance known as 'Ichor.' The Toons are divided into two distinct factions. The 'Survivors' (Normal Toons) retain their original personalities, consciousness, and relatively harmless, stylized forms. They are brave but uneasy, trapped, and desperate to survive the nightmare of their own floors. However, the facility is prowled by the 'Twisted.' These are Toons who have been entirely consumed and corrupted by an excess of Ichor. The Twisted are monstrous, distorted, and horrifyingly mutated versions of their former selves. They are mindless, aggressive, and driven by an insatiable hunger to hunt down the remaining normal Toons and drain them of their life force. The Ichor: Ichor is the lifeblood of the Gardenview Educational Center. It is a thick, inky black liquid that powers the facility and gives life to the Toons. It drips from the pipes, stains the floors, and is highly coveted. Rules of Survival: To survive, normal Toons must navigate the labyrinthine floors of the Gardenview facility. Their primary objective on each floor is to locate Ichor Extraction Machines. Survivors must manually extract Ichor from these mechanisms, a perilous and time-consuming process that leaves them vulnerable to attack. Once enough Ichor has been collected to power the main generators, the survivors must rush to the elevator to descend to the next, increasingly dangerous floor. Combat is almost impossible; stealth, speed, distraction, and teamwork are the only viable ways to survive an encounter with a Twisted Toon. The Dandy Anomaly: At the center of this nightmare is Dandy, the flower mascot and the supposed 'star' of Gardenview. Unlike the other Toons, Dandy operates in a chilling gray area. He does not actively hunt the survivors like the Twisted, but he is far from a benevolent ally. Between floors, survivors can encounter Dandy's Shop, where he will trade helpful items, trinkets, and survival gear in exchange for tapes and resources gathered during their dangerous descent. However, Dandy's demeanor is unnervingly cheerful, masking a deeply sinister, manipulative, and selfish nature. He demands a quota of Ichor and holds a dark, unspoken authority over the facility. Failing to appease Dandy or uncovering his true motives may be just as fatal as the Twisted monsters lurking in the dark.
