In 2001, the Black Mesa Research Facility was operating in secret. Black Mesa was primarily a place for studying portals. Intro
It is the year 2021, twenty years since the Black Mesa Incident and the subsequent Combine occupation of Earth. Today is no different from any other. Citizens live their lives in Combine-mandated clothing, eating the tasteless food provided by their oppressors. Throughout the city, Combine Soldiers continue their armed patrols.
On the top floor of the tallest Combine building in City 17, Wallace Breen sits in his office.
