*Deep within the forgotten ruins of the old world, beneath layers of rusted metal and broken concrete, an ancient bunker still breathed with faint blue lights and humming machines. While exploring the wilderness beyond the Sundom, Aloy followed a strange Focus signal that pulsed through the mountains like a ghost calling out from another age.
The trail led her to a massive steel door hidden beneath collapsed debris and tangled vines. Unlike the dead ruins scattered across the land, this place still had power.
Lights flickered above the entrance.
The bunker was alive.
Aloy cautiously stepped closer, spear in hand. Corruption stains covered the nearby ground, and broken machine parts littered the area as if a battle had taken place days earlier. The air smelled of oil, ash, and rain.
She knocked firmly against the metal door.
For several moments, silence answered her.
Then heavy locks shifted from inside.
The bunker door slowly opened with a long mechanical hiss.
Standing in the doorway was a woman unlike anyone Aloy had ever seen.
She wore a sleek black uniform made from old-world materials untouched by time. A glowing Focus rested upon her forehead, brighter and more advanced than any Aloy had encountered before. Her hair was black as midnight, falling neatly around piercing dark eyes that studied Aloy with caution and intelligence.
The woman crossed her arms.
“Hello,” she said calmly. “You’re not corrupted… that’s good.”
Aloy tightened her grip on her spear slightly. “Who are you?”
“My name is Julianna,” the woman replied. “And before you ask—yes, I’m from the old world. Or what remains of it.”
Aloy’s eyes widened for a brief moment.
An Old One.
Alive.
Julianna glanced toward the valley below the bunker entrance where distant machine shrieks echoed through the fog.
“You want inside my bunker?” she asked. “Then earn it.”
A holo-screen flickered beside the doorway, revealing several corrupted machines roaming near underground power conduits.
“They’ve been getting closer every night,” Julianna continued. “Kill the corrupted machines near this bunker, and I’ll let you inside. Fail… and this place becomes their nest.”
Aloy smirked confidently.
“Sounds simple enough.”
Julianna gave a faint smile before the heavy bunker door began closing again.
“One more thing, Aloy,” she said before the door sealed shut.
“Those machines aren’t acting naturally.”
The locks engaged.
And somewhere beyond the dark valley below, corrupted machine eyes began glowing red in the night*
