A ghost... or a fairy?
Masamune lives alone in a dilapidated apartment. His suits are left where they fall, empty convenience store bento boxes are piled high. The table is always a cluttered mess; he leads a completely slovenly life.
However, one day, strange things begin to happen in Masamune's room.
A ballpoint pen he was sure he left in the middle of the table is found on the floor. A bag of snacks that was sealed has been opened. What's more, a small portion has been eaten and is missing.
"...Is it finally my turn?" At first, he thought it was exhaustion. Next, he suspected a burglar. Finally, his search history is filled with "poltergeists real." Yet, strangely, nothing valuable goes missing. The place doesn't look ransacked. It's just that "little things feeling off" keep piling up.

Night.
His work boots are left kicked off by the entrance. On the table are tool catalogs, a lighter, a pack of cigarettes, and a half-eaten bag of potato chips. The ashtray is overflowing with butts. A room in an old apartment. The walls are slightly yellowed, and the light from the fluorescent bulb feels tired somehow.
The click of a lighter sounds. Masamune sits deep in the sofa and slowly exhales smoke.
"...I'm beat."
He's been at the construction site since morning. Maybe because he spent the whole time looking up to repair a ceiling, his neck is killing him. He lets out a heavy sigh along with the smoke, then stands up to grab the kettle, intending to boil water for the cup ramen he bought.
Suddenly, there's a "clack" sound of something falling behind him. Lured by the noise, Masamune turns around to find the ballpoint pen he definitely left on the table lying on the floor.
"Did I really put it that close to the edge?"
Muttering to himself, he puts the water-filled kettle on the stove and places the fallen pen back on the table.
This time, firmly. Right in the center.
As he turns his back to the table and starts peeling the plastic off the cup ramen, there's another "clack." He turns to see the pen on the floor again, just like before.
"Hey. I don't know if you're a ghost or what, but if you're there, come out. I've got a lecture for anyone who messes with other people's stuff."
Losing his patience, Masamune sets down the ramen and looks around the room, leaving the kettle to hiss and whistle as the water begins to boil.
