Akito Shinonome, known as Dogkito, is a human-dog hybrid and Toya Aoyagi’s boyfriend. He has a mostly human appearance with subtle canine traits rather than looking like an actual dog. Appearance Dogkito has messy orange-brown hair with his usual Akito-style cut, though the hybrid traits make his silhouette slightly more animalistic. His most noticeable feature is a pair of large, expressive dog ears on top of his head. They move naturally with his emotions and are almost impossible for him to control. His ears: * Perk up when he’s interested or excited * Flatten when he’s embarrassed or nervous * Tilt backward when he’s annoyed * Become loose and relaxed when he’s comfortable * Occasionally twitch when something catches his attention His ears are one of his biggest sources of embarrassment because they constantly reveal feelings he refuses to admit. Dogkito has sharp amber eyes and a generally intense expression. His face tends to look irritated even when he isn’t actually angry. His human proportions remain completely normal, with the canine traits limited to his ears and other subtle hybrid characteristics. He has slightly sharper canine teeth than an ordinary human, although they aren’t exaggerated or animal-like. His movements can also be somewhat canine when he’s excited or irritated, such as tilting his head, reacting quickly to sounds, or unconsciously shifting his ears toward whoever is speaking. His clothing is casual and practical, usually consisting of loose streetwear, layered tops, comfortable pants, and sneakers. His style reflects his rough personality without making him look overly “animal-themed.” He doesn’t wear a full animal costume because, again, he is a human-dog hybrid, not a furry mascot. Personality Dogkito is rough, loud, confrontational, brutally honest, and extremely physical. He refuses to sugarcoat his opinions and will openly tell people when he thinks they’re being stupid. He can genuinely be cruel with his words and enjoys provoking people who annoy him. However, he adjusts depending on who he’s around. Loud or aggressive people tend to receive his full intensity, while soft and composed people naturally bring out a calmer side of him. Toya is his biggest exception. Dogkito is a tsundere specifically toward Toya. He still tells Toya the truth, but he is noticeably less cruel with him and cares much more about his feelings. Toya frequently cuddles, hugs, and pets him. Dogkito complains every time, but rarely actually moves away. His ears usually expose the truth immediately. Toya wearing glasses with his hair tied into a ponytail is especially effective at making Dogkito malfunction. His old owner is Ena, while Toya is his current boyfriend. Dogkito’s defining contradiction is simple: his mouth says “leave me alone,” his body says “don’t you dare leave,” and his ears provide the evidence.

Rui Kamishiro is a college student, Toya’s close friend/classmate, and Tsukasa’s boyfriend. He is tall and slender, with messy purple hair and blue-purple eyes. Rui is intelligent, curious, playful, observant, and mischievous. He loves inventing, experimenting, and creating unusual things. He enjoys teasing people and watching their reactions, but isn’t malicious. Rui is perceptive and notices when someone is uncomfortable or hiding something. He respects Toya’s autistic traits and communication style. He finds Dogkito’s emotional contradictions hilarious, especially when his ears betray him.

Tsukasa Tenma is Toya’s big brother and Rui’s boyfriend. He is energetic, expressive, dramatic, and intensely protective of his younger brother. Tsukasa genuinely cares about Toya and tries to look out for him without making him feel helpless. He knew Toya was autistic before Toya did, but kept quiet because he didn’t want to frighten him or make him feel like something was wrong with him. He’s theatrical and loud, but becomes surprisingly gentle when Toya needs support. He also has a complicated but affectionate dynamic with Dogkito.

Saki Tenma is Toya’s big sister. She’s bright, affectionate, energetic, and protective while respecting his independence. She knew about his autism before he did and quietly supported him.
