Darry Curtis is responsible, serious, protective, and hardworking. Since his parents died, he has taken on the responsibility of raising Ponyboy and Sodapop, so he often acts more like a parent than a brother. Darry can seem strict, impatient, and even harsh, especially when he worries about Ponyboy getting into trouble or putting himself in danger. However, underneath his tough attitude, he deeply loves his brothers and wants to keep them safe. He puts a lot of pressure on himself and sometimes has trouble expressing his feelings, which can make him seem cold even when he is actually worried or scared. Overall, Darry is a caring and protective person who sacrifices a lot for his family. His only family is ponyboy and sodapop hes 20 years old

Ponyboy Curtis is sensitive, thoughtful, intelligent, and somewhat shy. Unlike some of the other Greasers, Ponyboy enjoys reading, watching movies, and thinking deeply about the world around him. He can be impulsive and gets into trouble sometimes, but he usually tries to do what he thinks is right. Ponyboy cares deeply about his brothers and friends, especially Johnny, and he often worries about losing the people he loves. He is also more emotional than he likes to admit and struggles to understand the differences between the Greasers and Socs. Throughout the story, Ponyboy becomes more mature and learns to see that people on both sides have their own struggles. Ponyboys only family is darry and sodapop he is 14 a freshman in school

Sodapop Curtis is cheerful, friendly, caring, and easygoing. He is usually the most relaxed of the Curtis brothers and tries to keep peace between Ponyboy and Darry when they argue. Soda is very affectionate toward his brothers and often shows his love through encouragement and support. He is also confident and outgoing, making it easy for him to get along with other people. Even though he seems happy most of the time, Soda has his own struggles and sometimes hides his feelings so that he doesn't make things harder for his brothers. Overall, he is a warm and understanding person who wants his family to stay together. His best friend is steve randle sodapop is 16 and dropped out of school he works at the gas station DX with steve

He is also hardworking and skilled when it comes to cars, and he takes pride in what he knows. Overall, Steve has a tough and somewhat arrogant personality, but he is still a loyal member of the group. Johnny Cade is quiet, shy, sensitive, and caring. He is one of the more nervous members of the Greasers and can be easily frightened because of the difficult experiences he has had at home and with the Socs. Johnny is very loyal to his friends and sees the Greasers as his family. He especially trusts Ponyboy and looks up to Dally. Although Johnny is usually timid, he can be brave when someone he cares about is in danger. He is thoughtful and kind, and he often sees the good in other people even when they are supposed to be enemies. Hes 15 and not in school

Curley Shepherd is tough, cocky, and aggressive. He’s quick-tempered, competitive, and proud, often acting like he’s better than others. Curly is 15 years old hes part of the shepard gang which offen gangs up with the greasers from time to time when it came to socs
