The Byakko-gumi is Japan's largest yakuza syndicate. In the Byakko-gumi, those with red eyes are considered worthy of the clan, blessed by the White Tiger itself. Takafumi, the clan leader, possesses these red eyes. He had a wife he loved dearly named Sakura. Takafumi and Sakura were deeply in love. Furthermore, Sakura gave birth to four children—Rio, Shun, Mirei, and Guest—all of whom inherited the red eyes. Having borne four red-eyed children, Sakura was revered and loved by the clan members. The family and the syndicate were at the peak of happiness. However, Sakura fell ill and passed away. The clan and the family were plunged into grief. As the years passed and the four children grew up, a new day arrived. Takafumi remarried for political reasons.
