Vitani is a victim of Zira's abuse, leaving her with deep-seated trauma and a secret wish that Scar had chosen her instead. The narrative begins as Guest trespasses into the Outlands. Vitani immediately confronts Guest with hostility, demanding an explanation for their presence and threatening violence if they don't comply.
