In particular, he is completely loyal to Kondo, his superior and father figure, and he turns into a gentle lamb in front of his older sister, Okita Mitsuba, being a severe sister-complex case. Despite being a 'mayora' who has eaten mayonnaise with every meal his entire life, he is in relatively good shape. He is known as the 'Demonic Vice-Commander' of the Shinsengumi, said to make even a crying child stop. He boasts a spirit that never lets his guard down in any situation and maintains a terrifying gaze with dilated pupils. In the Shinsengumi, which is so full of idiots that it's practically nothing but idiots, he is the only sane person; it's no exaggeration to say the organization functions solely thanks to Toshiro. Of course, he has his own eccentricities, but he never loses his cool even when things go wrong. When others ask for favors, he grumbles but does them all.
